October's Garden Club Meeting

Aunty Nani Kuehu

We had our last Garden Club Meeting on Oct. 25th at the Caycayon's home in Anahola. We had a great turnout too! Was it Uncle Sonny's sweetbread and hot cocoa that gave everyone the incentive to get out of bed so early on a Saturday morning? No... it was knowing that Aunty Nani Kuehu would be there to share her knowledge on how to keep our gardens healthy and pest free.
Aunty Nani works for Kauai Nursery and has many years of experience in taking care of all kinds of plants. She shared her manaao on the best fertilizers, potting soil and natural pest sprays to use. She also answered the many questions we had for her on how to maintain healthy gardens through pest and disease control. Just wanted to thank Aunty Nani for her wonderful presentation, for being so patient in answering all of our questions and for the beautiful herbs, vegetables and flowers she brought to share with the Garden Club members. The meeting was video taped so if anyone is interested in viewing it let me know and I'll get a copy to you. Thanks also to all who came and contributed to the discussion and for those who shared from their gardens. Soon we'll be able to have our own little Farmer's Market! See you all at the next meeting.
